I have always been intrigued by the fact that so many people see maths as difficult. There is no denying that it is diffcult for many people. But some people are not prepared these days to invest the time and effort to learning new skills. Mathematics is a very rich and deep subject and at school, we only scratch the surface. Many people lack the imagination to see that mathematics has contributed to all areas of knowledge. Perhaps one problem with a society where people are addicted to the internet and immediate satisfaction is that they are not willing to spend the time to look beyond the superficial.
